I can't exactly tell you why or how I decided to write this song.  I guess I was just sick of watching things on tv about how the government was always helping out other countries, but not our own.  Now with the terrorism going on in the world the song takes on a new meaning.  We are all living for "The American Dream"... that dream is FREEDOM!  GOD BLESS THE USA!!
